Hello fellow social justice group people!
I just wanted to touch based and update you on the kickoff event for
Know Your Corporations month! Thanks, first of all for letting Net
Impact start off what looks like to be a great month with our simulation
exercise! Please forward this email on to your members or bring it up
in meetings!!!
On Thursday, October 25th, representatives from the Center for Ethical
Business Cultures in Minneapolis will be coming down to facilitate the
Heartland's Best Simulation. Participants will be role playing as
executives in Heartland's Best Inc., a food manufacturing company.
There will be issues surrounding children, advertising, and food and
players will be charged with the task of sorting out the issues and
making what they think is the best decision for the company and
society. There will be discussion and a professor panel after the
exercise, so it should be REALLY interesting. Professors on the panel
are: Deane Curtin (philosophy), Mary Gaebler (religion), Bruce Johnson
(E/M), and Karl Larson (HES). Free pizza will be served!
If you are interested in joining us, please send me an email or send the
attached sign up sheet around at your meetings and forward them to me,
Kate Goodpaster. I'm really looking forward to this event, and I think
it'll be something new and with important issues and great discussion.
If you have any questions or comments please feel free to email me!
