[GAC-Dems] Gustavus GOP group has list of grievances

Tomorrow, March 23rd... "RIC by 2008" will have a table in front of the 
caf open officially for 10am to 12pm. This is a crucial tabling event!! 
At the table we will have drafted letters, ready to be signed by all of 
you, addressing the president and his position on RIC. It is very 
important that ALL of you try to drop by during this time to sign a 
letter so that we can move towards RIC status!

For those of you who have no idea what RIC is/means... RIC is 
"Reconciled in Christ" and is run out of the Lutherans Concerned for 
North America and the ELCA.  Gustavus, as an ELCA affiliated 
institution, can become RIC and essentially "come out" as an institution 
that is "both open and affirming of homosexuality".  Since Gustavus 
already has a nondiscrimination policy, all we need is for the President 
to accept RIC status.  This would mean a public indication of Gustavus' 
already accepting atmosphere towards homosexuality, and a fortification 
of the core values on campus as the pertain to the issue.

Also, if anyone is interested we are looking for volunteers to help keep 
the table open longer. Officially, we are a group of only three people, 
so volunteers would be greatly appreciated! If you would like to help, 
write me back with times that you would be around to help by sitting at 
the table between 9am and 3pm.
