Hey everyone,
Before I get to the minutes I am first going to talk a little about
the P&P we had about sex and politics. We had great discussion which
mostly focused on sex education in public schools, more specifically
if it should focus on simply abstinence or be all inclusive to other
safe sex practices. I'd thank to thank everyone for showing up and
sharing their thoughts. I'd also like to thank Lisa for organizing
and give Jake a virtual slap on the wrist for not allocating enough
funds for pop. Okay, now time for the minutes.
In attendance: Kacy Wothe, Lisa Hughes, Andy Winn, Dan Jadeson,
Justin Martin, Carla Shutrop, Matt Pollari, Eric Nelson, Jacob
Seamans, Laura Groenjes, Galen Mitchell, Mr. Allan A. Johnson I, Jon
Carlson
I. We'll give you $7 for any info you can give us to blackmail Allan.
II. Galen can't whistle.
III. We have a table for Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 to 2:00 to
sell our t-shirts.

-So, as you can see, we have a few time slots to fill. Either
show up or email me if you want to take the slot.
-All materials are in the Dems office. If you don't have a
key, you can get it from SAO.
-Peter was piling his nail clippings on the table.....he will
probably never again need spermicides in his life.
IV. Executive Board meeting tomorrow night with the College Republics
-What we may want to go in it mostly already exists in other
documents, like the student handbook, so if it becomes too radical, we
just won't put our name on it.
-I will never be able look Peter in the eyes again.......Ever.
V. Demfest
-Peter will contact Franken Friday after his parents schmooze
him Thursday
-Walz will be here
-We're still looking into bloggers
-Allan saw Terry, but lacked the common sense to ask him. But
he did say hi.
-Just as Peter, Lisa, and I were getting yelled at by Eric about
our side conversations, Eric answered his cell phone. Luckily for
him, he had valid reasoning. We, however, lacked validity in all
aspects of our conversation.
VI. Galen and Jake purchased binders
-All exec board officers should take time to get to the office
and fill their position's binder.
-They also purchased a large white board, which will be hung by
the physical plant (Allan should probably clean out his "personal
items" first).
VII. Bringing Camp Wellstone to GAC
-learn how to grassroots campaign and organize elections/campaigns
-Total cost is $5000, but we only have to cover $2500 plus food.
-Finance options could come from us, senate, poli sci
department, D-center, local officials, etc.
-It is non-partisan, so the republicans would hopefully join us.
-We could charge admin for those from the outside community
VIII. David Fine
-Running for president of the conjoined My-DFL and the College
Democrats of Minnesota.
-There is a new constitution (which Eric has a copy of and will
distribute)
-He sees a great need for new, non-stagnant leadership.
-Some of his goals are fundraising so more funds can be
allocated from the state to local chapters, and reaching out to the
chapters so there can be more communication amongst them.
-There is a convention April 28th at 11:00 in the Twin Cities to
vote on the constitution and a pre-meeting at 5:30 next Monday at
Minneapolis to finish revisions on the Constitution.
-I saw Allan waving his arms in the air to mock Eric's "full
academic year" as President out of the corner of my eye....it was
kinda funny.
-Peter and Lisa are whispering sluts.
IX. Justin asked if we want to organize a Relay for Life team.
-It's April 20th and we would need 8 people.
-He'll send out an email to see who's interested.
That's it everyone. Have a great week!
