So, I'm not very good with lap tops.....and yeah, I accidentally hit
the send button before I was done....so in continuation....

III. Camp Wellstone
-The camp will be this Saturday (the 14th) from 10-4. We will
be meeting at 3 Flags at 9:00 o'clock and we should be back by 5:30.
-This is the last weekend the camp will be offered, but there
will be one on Sunday at McCallister if you are interested.
-IF YOU WANT TO GO MAKE SURE YOU GO TO www.wellstone.org AND SIGN UP!!!!
-For those of you who don't know, Camp Wellstone is a wonderful
opportunity for politically motivated students to learn how to
effectively grassroots campaign, get out the vote, mobilize, etc.,
etc. It will help give you experience and confidence if future
campaigning endeavors.

IV. Peter finally got here.
-On his agenda was the joint lit piece for Terry and Kathy
-It is free to put it through the PO's, and we are just waiting
for approval on its contents.
-The overall cost will end up being about $60, so we don't have
to approve it with any headquarters, but we do have to inform the
campaigns of its publication.
-Secondly, Peter mentioned van driving for Election Day.
-We need as many drivers as possible so people are without an
excuse to not vote.
-Van training will be October 24th. Peter will send more
information about time and place.
-I believe it was said Dems can cover the cost of training....I think?
V. At this point, we started randomly jumping from topic to topic, so
I'm sorry if it gets confusing......Lisa wanted to announce some
doorknocking opportunities.
-Thursday from 7:30 to 9:00 in mankato. Meet at 3 Flags at
7:15. We will be doorknocking the apartments near Cold Stone, so you
probably want to bring some money with.
-Sunday doorknocking in the dorms from 6:00 to 9:00. Meet at 3
Flags at 5:45.
-We need a few more dorm captains for Election Day. Eric was
going to look into finding some. I believe the dorms were Rundstrom,
Sohre, IC, Arbor View and College View. Email Lisa at lhughes at gac.edu
if you want to help.
-We need to organize/find free food for the volunteers on
Election Day. Danielle suggested contacting some of the local
businesses to see if they would donate. Otherwise, any one with extra
caf money that would be willing to contribute please let us know!

VI. Cristina had positive reports from last week's doorknocking in
Winthrop. This Sunday we will be doorknocking in Gaylord, which is
crucial since the area is split in support about 50/50.
-Tuesday the 24th there will be an opportuity to do some phoning
from 5-7 and from 7-9 in Kato. If you want to help, e-mail
cdiaz at gac.edu.

VII. Allan wanted to thank everyone who came to the parade on
Saturday. We outnumbered the Republicans with our presence
(naturally), which is good news.
-While sitting in the Dem's office one day (Eric reminded him it
was the Dem's office, not his own personal room of power and
influence), some guys from Kid's Voting USA approached him about
helping out on Election Day with polling any kids that come to the
polls with their parents. If you want to help, great, but remember
how much help will be needed to get out the vote (the votes that
count, that is).

VIII. An E-mail was sent to the Sheran campaign about setting up a
debate here, but no one has received a reply. We're going to try to
make contact again.

IX. Pizza and Politics Wednesday, October 18th in Confer 128.
      -The topic is Torture
-We may have to do the advertising. Eric or Allan will be
sending out an e-mail.

X. Election night party
-We need a venue with a TV, preferably some place with a fun atmosphere.
-The Dive was suggested, but we may not be allowed to stay late
enough. Eric was going to check into it.
-Any ideas of an off-campus venue....it could be more "spicy"
(In Lisa's words).

XI. We have Linner Lounge reserved the 5th through the 7th of
November for Election Headquarters. We still need a room for the 1st
through the 4th.
-We will probably have to use a classroom, so if you have any
ideas of which room we could use, let us know.
-This area will be the entire headquarters for St. Peter, so
there will be many people going in and out at all times.

XII. Get signs from Allan or anyone with a key to the Dem's office (I
promise I'll get mine soon...) to hang in your windows!!!

XIII. Tabling for this week

                 Wednesday 18th Friday 20th
10-10:30 Eric Nelson Eric Nelson
10:30-11:30 Steven Palmer, Drew Y.J. Steven Palmer, Drew Y.J.
11:30-12:30 Brian Curran Brian Curran
12:30-1:30 Steven Palmer ??????? WE NEED
SOMEONE HERE!
1:30-2:00 Mark Gonnella, Drew Strandness Eric Nelson

Remember, you're always more than welcome to drop by the table and
help out any time you want!

That's it for this week guys. Stay Warm!
